SERVICES ON OFFER
Individual sessions using cognitive-behavioural therapeutic (CBT) & compassion focussed therapeutic (CFT) approaches.
In brief, CBT is a structured, practical and effective intervention which identifies and addresses the behaviours and thinking patterns which may be causing and maintaining the problem and is proved to be effective in treating a wide range of psychological/psychiatric difficulties.
CFT is proving to be effective in working with distressed individuals, particularly those who present as highly self-critical and full of shame, who tend not to respond to traditional Cognitive Behavioural Therapies.
In brief, recent studies of the brain have shown that we have three different types of emotion regulation system including the ‘Threat and Self- Protection’, ‘Drive and Desire’ and ‘Soothing and Caring’. These three systems work together, constantly interacting, and regulating each other. When people are experiencing mental distress, the ‘Threat’ system tends to be highly aroused with the other two systems struggling to regulate it and the ‘Soothing’ system is typically under stimulated. Hence, one of the aims of CFT is to help the distressed individual access this ‘Soothing’ system in order to regulate the ‘Threat’ system via a series of brain exercises, referred to as Compassionate Mind Training (CMT) exercises.
Such therapeutic techniques can be effective in treating a wide range of difficulties including anxiety disorders and depression.

There are increasing number of individuals who have been signed off sick from work on a long-term basis as a result of deteriorating mental health including stress and anxiety and depression.
Such could be avoided in a large number of individuals if the symptoms/difficulties were identified and addressed sooner, ideally within the workplace setting.
As an Employer or a Manager, if you are concerned about rising sickness rates and deteriorating morale amongst employees which may be impacting negatively on productivity, then contact me at no obligation to discuss how I can support you in working towards improving mental health amongst employees which would improve sickness records with the overall goal of improving productivity.
The service I offer is flexible as tailor-made packages are devised depending on the needs of each business organisation.
